Visitor from the Amur Land (Male)
Another record shot of this magnificient raptor (since there are none on this site till now).....the male is unmistakable and are beautiful....one should see it to appreciate it.....crusing at very high speed, they catch insects midair on their way to wintering grounds in South Africa....it is amazing to note that this species probably undertakes the longest regular overwater passage of any raptor when it crosses the Indian Ocean between southwestern India and tropical East Africa, a journey of more than 4,000 km NONSTOP......really difficult to freeze these guys in a camera :)
