Turnix tanki
Please excuse for the Image Quality.... but this species is rarely being photographed or reported in India, hence sharing it with you all. Like the Barred Buttonquail, this is also not a true quail with female being more colourful and polyandrous.....it has a funny sounding scientific name too :-)

Buttonquails resemble, but are unrelated to the true quails. They are small, cryptically coloured, ground dwelling birds. The female is more brightly coloured than the male and initiates courtship. The interesting thing is the “Role Reversal” trait in this species. The female exhibits polyandry and keep circulating among several males and fighting off rival females from her territory. She also offers food to the maes during courtship ritual :-)

Great shot amazing learning, my only brush with this bird was when I saw it it took off running way back in 2002 at Daroji. Just enough to say that this was a Yellow legged.
